Marion City Council doesn’t consider parked cars to be suitable lawn ornaments and took the first step Monday toward banning parking of vehicles in front yards or side yards of corner lots.
Under an ordinance proposed by city administrator Roger Holter, first offenders would be fined $100 plus court costs. A second offense would cost $200. A third would cost $300 and up to three days in jail.
Charles Naerebout Jr. has been putting up “missing goat” flyers around Hillsboro after his precious White Zin, a dappled Boer goat with unborn kids, disappeared New Years Day. The goat may be worth as much as several thousand dollars.
State transportation secretary Mike King and local emergency medical technician Gene Winkler cut a ceremonial ribbon Dec. 30 at Marion Community Center to officially dedicate the US-56/77/K-150 roundabout, improving what had been the state’s most dangerous intersection.
