Harry Rogers will give a free picture show at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Auditorium. This show is for the special benefit of children and will be given as a present to them. Older people, however, are cordially invited to attend. It will be a good show.

The local coal situation continues serious, and everyone who can do so should lay in a supply of wood. A mass meeting was conducted here the other day to consider the situation, and a committee with I.E. Myers as chairman was appointed to do everything possible to meet the situation and, if necessary, to organize wood-chopping forces. The Rock Island has confiscated at least two cars of coal consigned to Marion.

Dr. G.J. Goodsheller has bought a Ford sedan and has had it equipped with an electric starter. This is the first sedan to be owned here. He bought it from Stout Motor Co., which is bringing in a car load.

Failed to mention last week that Major Fred Lewis is home from Emporia, where he has been foreman of construction on the big administration building just completed at the State Normal.

N.L. Olsen, west of town, is presenting his family a Delco light and power plant as a Christmas present.
