Lab results have not yet been received by local authorities regarding the deaths of three dogs after they drank algae-contaminated water from Marion Reservoir.

Meeting participants from Marion County and other counties heard about a community development success story in Nebraska. Leon Atwell explained how Marion County and others could work together to form an organization to assist development efforts.

An open house from 1 to 3 p.m. July 22 at the hospital lobby will welcome Linda Skiles, M.D., to St. Luke Hospital and Living Center.

Kimber Hardey on horn and Jessica Vogel on piccolo and flute, both of Marion High School, will join a total of 213 students to comprise the 34th annual Kansas Masonic All-State High School Marching Band Camp. The camp will end with performances Saturday at the Shrine Bowl parade and at the Shrine Bowl football game.

Six members of the 1963 Durham Hornets basketball team, their coaches, and spouses met Saturday at Main Street Café to re-celebrate their state championship.

Lori L. Lalouette of Marion has been named a Collegiate All-American Scholar. Lalouette, who attends Washburn University School of Law, was nominated for this national award by Dean Alex Glashauser.
