JAN. 7. 1876
About 40 sweet little girls and gallant little boys gathered at this office on New Years night in response to our published invitation.
Father Battey kindly came to our rescue, and to him all of us owe much of the success of the entertainment.
He fashioned popcorn balls and manufactured the candy with which we all succeeded so admirably in devouring.
Candy pullings are much better than poetry to make old people young again. And now we settle down to the business of the new year, feeling better than before our little New Years party.
