Flint Hills Adventures, a tour group from Emporia who select interesting places in the Flint Hills to highlight and visit, has selected Jones Sheep Farm as the first stop on their Saturday itinerary.

Steve Hamous, proprietor of the Phoenix — a clothing emporium that nears completion in downtown Peabody, reports yet another interesting historical and factual incident to the remodeling. Hamous decided to put four dressing rooms in the coming clothing store, but needed two-foot wide doors. Jesse Seibel offered the fact that he had four such doors, which after further checking, Hamous found had come from the Peabody State Bank basement, where at one time a barber shop operated, complete with public bathing facility. Hence the four dressing room doors.

Avis Herbert entertained the Luncheon Bridge Club at her home Wednesday.
