Jamie Hatton qualified for state track meet by placing second in the 1600 meter run in 4:51.2 and second in the 3200 meter run in 11:01.

Two area men received their master’s degrees from Emporia State University during exercises at Emporia May 18 — Steve Janzen and Evan Yoder.

Janelle Unrau, 1980 graduate of Peabody High School and daughter of LaVern and Marilyn Stucky of Peabody, recently won a marketing award from the Simon Management Company with whom she is employed in McAllen, Texas.
