These reports of motor vehicle accidents were released Friday by the Marion County sheriff’s office:

Nighthawk Road north of 140th Road

While trying to avoid a cow standing in the road Gale Schroeder, 17, of 702 N. Elm St., Peabody drove a 1993 Ford Ranger into a tree at 11 p.m. June 9.

The Ranger, owned by Darren Schroeder of the same Peabody address, had to be towed. Also damaged was a fence owned by Eugene Just of 1388 Pawnee Road, rural Marion.

K-15 south of 240th Road

Richard Enns, 53, of 314 S. Ash St., Hillsboro, hit a deer with his 2002 Dodge Dakota at 9:30 p.m. June 10. The deer apparently left the area.

U.S. 56 west of Nighthawk Road

Thomas Schrag, 51, of 1500 E. Main St., Apt. 12, Marion, reported falling asleep at the wheel at 2:35 a.m. June 12. His 1996 Dodge Caravan had to be towed from a ditch.

Bison Road south of 350th Road

Swerving to avoid a deer, Steven Crum, 26, of 271 350th Road, Tampa, lost control of a 2006 Toyota Corolla at 4:35 p.m. June 13.

The car, owned by Shasta Oaks of the same address, had to be towed from a ditch.

Nighthawk Road north of 120th Road

Rachel Neil, 17, of 1509 120th Road, Peabody, reported being forced by an approaching truck off the roadway and into a culvert at 12:59 p.m. June 15.

The 1999 Pontiac Grand Am she was driving did not require a tow. It was listed as being owned by Neil Hett of the same address.

The oncoming truck was not identified.
