Amber R. Litton, 40, Peabody, ran over an Atmos Energy gas meter at 3:33 p.m. May 28 while attempting to pull her 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 into a carport from a rear alley.
The meter became detached, and the pickup sustained damage characterized as minor to its left rear.
Deputy Jesse Raney’s report blamed the wreck on inattentive driving, but no tickets were listed as having been issued.
The sheriff’s department investigated because Peabody police resigned and have not been replaced.
