According to accident reports released Monday:
SHERIFF
Indigo Rd. south of 130th Rd.
Barbara Doherty, 50, Wichita, lost control of her 2008 Ford Crown Victoria on icy pavement and went into the west ditch, striking a road sign and a tree, at 7:35 a.m. Feb. 16. Hillsboro ambulance transported Doherty to Hillsboro Community Hospital. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Nighthawk Rd. south of 130th Rd.
Linda Aylward, 55, Solomon, lost control of her 2005 Toyota Camry on icy pavement as she entered a curve, going into the east ditch, striking a sign, and overturning at 8:28 a.m. Feb. 16. Undersheriff David Huntley reported Aylward sustained minor injuries, but did not require ambulance transportation. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Vickie Hiebert, 47, Canton, struck a coyote with her 2007 Honda Odyssey at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 2.
She drove the vehicle from the scene.

Gretchen Wagner, 42, Goessel, struck a deer with her 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora at 7:15 a.m. Feb. 17.
She drove the vehicle from the scene.
Nighthawk Rd. south of 160th Rd.
Tiffany Miler, 21, Peabody, was southbound in a 1998 Acura CL at 7:15 a.m. Feb. 1 when she reportedly swerved to avoid a deer and headed toward a light pole. Sheriff’s deputy Wilma Mueller reported that a passenger, Kyle Fistler, 21, Peabody, grabbed and jerked the steering wheel, causing the car to enter a field on the east side of the road. The back of the car, owned by Fistler, struck the light pole. The car was driven from the scene, and the accident was reported Feb. 2.

Officer David Funk said “failure to yield” was a contributing factor in a non-injury collision on Feb. 16 involving a 2008 Volkswagen Passat driven by Lea Knaak, 43, of Hillsboro, and a 2003 Chevrolet Impala driven by Nathaniel Burnham, 20, of Whitewater. Police reports said Burnham allegedly attempted to make a left turn on to A St. at 3:20 p.m. but did not see Knaak until it was too late at which point the front of Knack’s vehicle struck the right front portion of Burnham’s vehicle while traveling approximately 15 mph.
