WEDDING:   Brooke Johnson marries

Brooke Johnson and Justin Lenhardt were married Dec. 22 at Pantano Stables near Tucson, Ariz. The Rev. Josh Reich officiated the ceremony, assisted by the bride’s grandfather, the Rev. Wayne Handle, who gave the final blessing.

Mark and Lisa Johnson of Marion are the parents of the bride. Bill and Joan Johnson of Wichita and Wayne and Gloria Handle of Baxter Springs are her grandparents. Marie Clark of Burns is her great-grandmother.

John and Becky Lenhardt, Phoenix, Ariz. are the parents of the groom. Joan Hadley of Phoenix, Frank and Lucy Lenhardt of Palm Springs, Calif., and Ana Lenhardt of Fort Collins, Colo., are the groom’s grandparents.

The bride wore a lace-adorned, ivory gown with a sweetheart neckline and keyhole back. She was given in marriage by her father. The groom wore brown corduroy pants and a maroon blazer over a white shirt and suspenders.

Kaylee Looney, of Littleton, Colo., sister of the bride, attended as matron of honor. She wore a cream-colored, short dress and cowboy boots.

Friend of the groom, Tyler Bloem of Tucson stood as best man for the groom, wearing brown cords, a white, button-down shirt, and suspenders.

A wedding supper for the wedding party immediately followed the ceremony, and guests gathered for an outdoor reception. Round tables were covered with black tablecloths and decorated with white runners of burlap. Centerpieces of white, cream, brown, and rust silk flowers were arranged around jute-wrapped wine bottles and upside-down wine glass candleholders. Tree branches and twigs placed in wine bottles and flower arrangements completed the rustic look, set off by sparkling, white pavilion lights.

The couple danced as man and wife for the first time to guitar and vocal music by Amanda Miller. Abigail Wilhelm, friend of the couple, attended to a buffet of hors d’oeuvres.

After a honeymoon in San Diego, Calif., the couple flew back to Kansas for a New Year’s Eve reception in Winfield. Josh Whitwell provided music and line dance instructions.

The couple resides in Tucson.
