The Burns Senior Citizens started the New Year on Jan. 8 with 14 sharing the noon meal.
Tootsie Snelling was hostess, and she introduced Mary Beth Bowers of Marion, who showed slides and samples of wild flowers of this area. She had about 30 slides and told some very interesting facts about the flowers. It was a most interesting and informative program.
James Olberding called the business meeting to order. Hosts for the first four months of 2013 were appointed. “Happy Birthday” was sung to Lowell Larsen and Carl Riggs for their December birthdays and James Olberding for his January birthday.
