Car charger coming to Marion

An electric vehicle charging station will be installed this fall in the west parking lot of Historic Elgin Hotel.

Kansas Power Pool will work with the city of Marion to install the charger.

“Our expense would be the cost of electricity,” city administrator Roger Holter told city council members Monday.

Holter said to charge a car, it would take four hours.

He said the device could be seet up with a credit card payment system.
