Carlos Girk

Carlos Edward Girk, 71, died Monday in Peabody. He was an oil field rig operator for Flowers Oil Well Service.

He was born March 31, 1942, in Waynesville, Mo., to Edward Girk and Cleo Bowen.

He married Delores Tyree on June 16, 1962. He is survived by his wife, Delores; three sons, Roy and Curtis Girk of Peabody and Travis Girk of Newton; two sisters, Erma Nellans and Geraldine Glenn of Peabody; and three grandchildren.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Prairie Lawn Cemetery with pastor Jim Pohlman officiating.

Memorial funds have been established with the American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association.
