Centre scores wins over Peabody-Burns

Both Peabody-Burns teams lost their games Tuesday against the Centre Cougars. The girls lost 46-28, and the boys lost 65-52.

Halftime score of the boys’ game was 38-20 with Centre in the lead. In the second quarter, Jayton Scott put up 8 points, 5 of which came on three consecutive possessions.

Though they lost the game, Peabody-Burns managed a 22- point comeback in the fourth quarter, leaving the final score at 65-52. In the last three minutes of the final quarter, Centre sank four baskets.

Scott led Warriors scoring with 16 points. Austin Reynolds followed with 13.

Centre led at each quarter break against the Lady Warriors, 9-5, 18-9, and 30-15, and they cruised to a 46-28 win.

Tops scorers for Peabody-Burns were
Anna Lubbers with 11 points and Nicki Sanders with 7.

The Warriors will play Chase County beginning at 6 p.m. Friday in Cottonwood Falls.
