NEW JAILINGS

Kevin W. Geren, 63, Marion, arrested Friday by Hillsboro police on suspicion of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Released 4½ hours later after posting a $2,000 bond. Previously jailed 13 times for a total of all or part of 87 days between Dec. 18, 2019, and April 15, 2024. Previous jailings were on court orders three times; for failing to appear in court six times; for allegedly violating his probation once; and on suspicion of distributing stimulants; possessing marijuana and hallucinogens once, stimulants three times, and drug paraphernalia four times; fleeing or attempting to elude police; making a criminal threat; and failing to display evidence of vehicle liability insurance.

Bryan T. Grosse, 44, Marion, arrested Monday by Marion police on suspicion of interfering with and fleeing from law enforcement, possessing stimulants and drug paraphernalia, transporting an open container of alcohol, and driving while his license was canceled, suspended, or revoked. Bond not set. Previously jailed 12 times for a total of all or part of 49 days between Nov. 5, 2018, and Oct. 22, 2023. Previous jailings were on court orders twice; for failing to appear in court twice; for allegedly violating his probation six times; and on suspicion of burglary; felony criminal damage to property; theft; driving without a license twice and while his license was canceled, suspended, or revoked once; improper registration of a vehicle; failing to have vehicle liability insurance; transporting an open container of alcohol twice; cultivating a controlled substance; and possessing methamphetamine, stimulants, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Calvin J. Hinz, 41, Lincolnville, arrested May 27 by a sheriff’s deputy on suspicion of possessing stolen property. Held in lieu of posting a $1,000 bond. Previously jailed four times for a total of all or part of seven days between Aug. 11, 2021, and May 14, 2025. Previous jailings were for failing to appear in court once, for allegedly violating his probation once, and on suspicion of two counts of theft and single counts of vehicle burglary and domestic battery.

Chance D. Johnson, 22, Peabody, arrested Monday by sheriff’s deputy for allegedly violating his probation. Held in lieu of posting a $5,000 bond. Previously jailed March 24 to 26 on court orders; March 21, 2024, to July 3, 2024, for failing to appear in court; and May 29 to 31, 2023, on a Butler County warrant and suspicion of possessing stimulants, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

DeLane K. Kellogg, 57, Burns, arrested May 27 by a sheriff’s deputy on suspicion of assault, disorderly conduct, and making a criminal threat. Released 40 hours later after posting a $7,000 bond. Previously jailed Aug. 21, 2023, on suspicion of battery.

Byron D. McDonald, 40, Hillsboro, arrested Saturday by a sheriff’s deputy for failing to appear in court. Released an hour later after posting a $1,500 bond.

Samantha N. Schmidt, 39, Goessel, arrested Monday by a sheriff’s deputy for allegedly violating her probation. Released three hours later after posting a $5,000 bond. Previously jailed May 19 on suspicion of burglary and theft; June 19 to 26, 2024, on court orders; and Sept. 8 to 11, 2023, on suspicion of burglary and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Robert A. West, 29, Manhattan, arrested Friday by a sheriff’s deputy on two unspecified warrants. Released 21 hours later after posting a $400 bond and $100 bail.
