Randy Dallke, Peabody mayor and 16-year employee of Atmos Energy (formerly Greeley Gas) is one of the employees featured in its quarterly publication, “Visions.”

Kansas State Historical Society, during its annual meeting last week at Topeka, elected Bill Meyer of Marion to its board of directors.

Maude Gaines fell coming out of church Sunday and broke her hip.

The new sign pictured is the Peabody sign recently erected in Santa Fe Park at Peabody. The letters are from the old depot and those familiar with the old depot will recall that the wall pictured was part of the depot entrance.

Four Peabody High School FFA members, Chip Winsor, John Kinney, Norman Entz, and Jim Philpott, and adviser Gary Jones, went to Kansas City to attend the National FFA convention last week.

Jill Knust and Devin Granam were married on Nov. 5, 1988 at 1:30 p.m. in the United Methodist Church in Dewey, Okla.

nov. 14, 1963

Dedication and open house ceremonies for the Fredric Remington High School will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17.

An article appearing in the Kansas City Times last week told about the historic and beautiful Kiddoo Valley near Neosho, Mo. This is a valley named for the ancestors of W.E. Kiddoo of Peabody, who visited the area again a few weeks ago.

Announcing the opening of Pat’s Kut and Kurl, at the Pereboom residence 1½ miles west of Peabody on U.S. 50 — Pat Pereboom, operator.

nov. 12, 1913

At the bride’s residence, with her grandfather, E.L. Hoyt, on Saturday Nov. 8, 1913, occurred the wedding of Mr. George Percy Potter and Miss Helen Baker, two of Peabody’s most popular young people.

A 25-cent package of Oatmeal for 20 cents at the Bee Hive.

Mrs. C.C. Spencer has been substituting in Grade 2 this week, Miss Lulu Buck having tonsillitis.

nov. 9, 1888

Charley Westbrook sold and got the pay for three sheep, but says he only sold one before Cleveland was elected and hasn’t received the pay for it!

Chas. Bragunier has a new sign in front of his store.

The wooden awnings have been removed from the front of the Huffman and Red Front buildings by order of the council.
