Mrs. Charles King, 210 N. Maple St. in Peabody, has been selected to appear on the Kansas Lottery Live TV show Feb. 25.
Patricia Gail Johnson of Peabody died late Monday in a Wichita hospital, the victim of leukemia.
Randy and Laurie Cox, Wade and Bev Knust, Duane and Wanda Unruh, and Randy and Deb Windsor left Feb. 14 for skiing in Colorado.

Charles DeForest was one of a group of feed dealers from this area who attended a daylong sales and informational program of the Nutrena Feed division of Cargil, Inc. at Kansas City on Jan. 17.
Four new directors were picked from a small crowd for the Chamber of Commerce: Jack Walker, Clarence Flint, Owen McNeil, and Gary Jones.
Duane Snyder and John Walton attended the Kansas Music Educators convention at Hays Feb. 15 and 16.

J.M. Bechtel, who for several years has been the local agent of the Mennonite Mutual Co., with authority to appoint other agents in this vicinity, has commissioned J.W. Nusbaum, the popular Ford auto man.
Interior work on the Public Library is well advanced and in a short time, the building will be ready for occupancy. Many more new books have been received.
Miss Waterman had planned for a Valentine box at Biscuit Hill School Friday, but the weather was so bad some of the pupils were not present so it was postponed until Monday.

FEB. 14, 1889
C.M. Sawtell returned Sunday from a short visit to Milwaukee. He had gone to Chicago with a load of horses.
Bart Brindley, who recently had his leg broken, is able to sit up.
Gibbs and Sons have the contract for the abutments for the bridge over the Doyle near C.J. Covets. At that point, the creek is 60 feet wide and 15 feet deep and the bridge span will be 80 feet.
