Peabody-Burns High School homecoming royalty candidates are Ryan Gaines, Andrea Ferren, Kate Topham, Mario Nava, Brandon Crabtree, and Tiana McGee.
Rural Peabody resident Mike Reynolds and his red bone coonhound, Buddy, are training to be part of Sedgwick Co. Emergency Management K-9 team, which uses dogs in search and rescue.
Kara Marie Kaufman of Hillsboro and Derek John Klingenberg of Peabody were united in marriage at 4 p.m. June 5 at Trinity Mennonite Church in Hillsboro.

Fire destroyed most of the home of the George Kinney family four miles west of Peabody Friday afternoon.
Fifty Lachenmaier relatives gathered Sept. 3 at the Blue Ribbon Center in Hutchinson for a buffet dinner and reunion. Janie Hodges, Ross and Rosalee Baker, Hilda Baskins, and “Smoke” and Anna Lachenmaier, all from Peabody, attended.
The Gray family entertained family and friends Aug. 26 with a pork supper at the home of Marge and Fordy Gray.

Joe Neuhauser, who was dismissed from the hospital last week after undergoing surgery, reports he had exactly 100 visitors during his stay.
Geraldine Thomas, 25, died Sunday at Kansas University Medical Center. She is the granddaughter of Daisy Thomas and a sister of Mrs. James Honn.
Gene and Luella Ferguson and children, Sally, Max, and Theresa, have returned home after a week’s vacation in Colorado.

Professor Killock has returned from his vacation, much improved in health from his summer outing in the woods of the east.
King, the horse driver and trainer, went to Abilene Monday where he drives D.M. Green’s colt in one of the races.
