Danielle Gwinup and Laci McCartney were part of a group of 20 elementary school students who spent several hours decorating and filling Easter baskets for the residents of Peabody Community Living Center.
Spring break was exciting for the Saenz/Martinez families as Mrs. Carlos Saenz opened her front door to see their oldest grandson and family, David Martinez of San Diego, Calif., for the first time in eight years.
Alice Mae Litton died March 26, 2002, in Peabody.

Gregory Jones, a senior at Peabody High School, has been accepted for admission to Tabor College for the 1987-88 academic year.
Aletha Bethell of Peabody is one of a group of finalists in the Seventeen Magazine’s Cover Model Contest in Kansas.
Eric Slocombe of San Marcos, Texas, was one of many artists whose works were displayed at Touch of Taos Gallery of Art at Wimberly Mount Plaza on March 1.

Sharon Walker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Walker, was chosen as the student who will be sponsored by IOOF on a United Nations tour next summer.
The announcement that the Lelia Woods farm property had been sold for $70,000.00 highlighted the regular Tuesday night session of the City Council.
Carol Walker, a sophomore at the University of Kansas, has been elected as one of the two vice presidents of the Sigma Kappa social sorority.

Malefactors will hereafter have a safe retreat in Peabody. The massive iron cages for their accommodations have arrived and been placed in the new city building, which is rapidly nearing completion.
Wanted — two smart boys to learn the printing trade — at the Gazette office.
The WCTU will meet at the home of Mrs. G. W. Black on Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock.
