Prairie People Tourism Association will meet Thursday noon at the Peabody Township Library.

Visitors in the Peabody Historical Society’s walk in downtown Peabody during the Thanksgiving holidays will see many scenes in the store windows that could have happened in various decades.

Peabody’s Kiwanis Club’s annual Pancake Day will be Saturday, featuring all the pancakes you can eat, Peabody Sausage House sausage, and coffee, milk or orange drink.

Nov. 5, 1987

Mary Avery of Marshall-Avery Real Estate was named president-elect of the Marion County Board of Realtors at the regular meeting Tuesday, Oct. 22.

The Peabody High School cross-country team for 1987 consisted of: Russell Thomas, John Lambert, Jeff Balthrop, Chad Loyles, Jason May, Traci Holm, Christal Seeney, and Amy Grosse.

Mrs. Mary Williams, 67, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1987, at St. Francis Cancer Center in Wichita.

NoV. 1, 1962

Mrs. Carol Foote accompanied Mrs. Oscar Foote of Lyons to Kansas City to spend several days this week.

Dr. and Mrs. Robert D. Wood attended the Kansas University-Oklahoma State University football game at Stillwater, Oklahoma Saturday.

The first frost of the season and a good rain were featured in the program of weather this past week.

NOV. 1, 1912

Lee Isaacs came home yesterday for a few days’ visit from Manhattan where he is attending the Agricultural College.

Mrs. Louise Pickney was 85 years old yesterday and her friends united in surprising her with a post card shower.

The Ladies Aid Society of the Stone Church met Wednesday with Mrs. Orlando Joliffe.

NOV. 3, 1887

Misses Jennie Christ and Lillie Osborne had a pleasant party at the latter’s home last evening.

There’s a fine barber pole in front of John Knox’s shop. Stockdale and Stempel supervised the artistic decorations thereon.

Dr. Buck went to Marion this morning to consult with Dr. Hannaford in the case of Mrs. Brockett who is very sick.
