Rules were changed again on Walnut Street U-turns.
The Peabody Printing Museum received its final treasure Monday when members took possession of a Model 8 Linotype from the printing plant at the Ft. Hays State University.
Carl Hansen, 92, formerly of Peabody, died Jan. 22, 2003 at the Presbyterian manor at Emporia.

A painting depicting a World War I battle scene, painted by a Wichita artist and former Peabody resident, Anna Mae Bradshaw, was presented to the 89th U.S. Army Reserve Command last Saturday, 55 years after it was completed.
Muriel Wolfersperger was the program speaker at the dinner meeting of Kiwanis Club Monday evening at the Senior Center. She told of the Kansas Quilt Project.
Mr. and Mrs. Rod Entz and boys recently moved to their new home north of Peabody.

Paul Windsor, outstanding Peabody High School senior, has been awarded the Bausch and Lomb Science award this year.
Second Lt. and Mrs. Craig Stallwitz are parents of a daughter born Wednesday, Jan. 28.
Mrs. Ralph Gard accompanied Mrs. Cecil Wright to Burns on Wednesday for a “Quilting” at the home of Mrs. Wright’s sister, Mrs. Don Gfeller.

Hazen Brewer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Brewer, was born Sept. 15, 1912 and died Jan. 16, 1913.
Roy Westbrook is moving into the C. B. Palmer residence on North Maple Street.
Lost, perhaps in the Opera House — a long string of amber beads. The finder is kindly requested to return them to the State Bank.
