Deanna C. Spangler, 74, of Burns died Oct. 15. She was born Aug. 28, 1939, in Leavenworth to Mervyn and Marguerite Donnell.
She lived in Leavenworth until 1978 when she moved to Jewell County, where she worked as a CNA at Jewell County Hospital for many years.
She married William Spangler in 2008, and they made their home in Burns. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Mahaffey.
She is survived by her husband, William Spangler; three children, James Langley of St. Joseph, Mo.; Sandra Leshikar of Liberty, Mo.; and Anita Hunter of Liberty, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Lorena and Sheila; a sister, Linda Hollingshead of Silver Lake; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Burns United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Helzer officiating.
Memorial funds have been established with Burns United Methodist Church and Caring Hands Humane Society of Newton.
