MARION — Delano “Scott” O’Dell, 55, was born in Florence, July 4, 1957, and passed away at his home Aug. 29, 2012.

Scott was born in Florence and lived there a lot of his life. The rest of his time was living on his farm southeast of Marion, Kan. Scott loved the outdoors and enjoyed his hunting and fishing and also enjoyed taking care of his livestock. Scott spent 35 years, working for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, where he was a B & B Carpenter.

Scott is lovingly survived by his parents, Delano and Barbara (Harbison) O’Dell; a brother, Michael, and a sister, Dianne, and her husband Don Burnett, all of Marion; his two nieces and their families; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation was held Monday evening at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion. A graveside service was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Florence, with the Rev. Alan Stahlecker presiding. A memorial fund has been established for Quail Forever — Youth Program in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion, KS, 66861.
