MARION SENIOR CENTER:   Eager Beavers design newsletter

Marion Senior Center correspondent

The Eager Beaver newsletter crew worked on the Marion Senior Center newsletter Dec. 16. The crew consisted of Elsie Reiswig, Nora Richter, Sue Clough, Jane Makovec, Wanda Hamm, Al Ash, Mary Ann Timm, Evelyn Jewett, Fred Puttroff, Pat Busey, Gayla Ratzlaff, and Lanell Hett.

Senior Center Day was Dec. 18. Sue Clough conducted the business meeting and the Marion High School Singers, directed by Tim Cassidy, performed Christmas music.

The center will be closed on New Year’s Day.

The center will celebrate Elvis birthday with a performance by Elvis impersonator Marc Baker of Wichita at 7 p.m. Friday. An Elvis movie will be shown on his actual birthday, Jan. 8, at the center.

The center was the host of the Marion County Senior Citizens board meeting Dec. 20. Sue Clough brought and wrapped gifts for all who ate at the center or had meals delivered that day.

The Happy Hustler 4-H members made placemats for lunch on Dec. 23. Shirley Bowers decorated, brought snacks, and played carols before lunch.

Patrons played “guess the songs of Christmas” and Lydia and Kimberly Vanderzanden led patrons in carols accompanied by Shirley Bowers on the piano on Christmas Eve.
