Elenora Walker

Elenora Walker, 84, of Hutchinson, a homemaker and co-owner of Walker’s Fina in Hope, died June 23 at her home.

She was born Oct. 14, 1928, in Herington to Herman and Mathilda (Meyer) Blomenkamp.

She was a homemaker and co-owner of Walker’s Fina Service in Hope.

She married Wallace Edward Walker on March 16, 1952, in Herington. He preceded her in death, along with a daughter, Linda Walker Leaton, and a brother, Duane Blomenkamp.

Survivors are two sons, Steven of Hutchinson and Ronald of Salina; a brother, Larry Blomenkamp of Emporia; a sister, Haroldine Hicks of Peabody; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Her funeral was Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Herington. Pastor Bill Peterson officiated. Interment was at Hope City Cemetery.

Memorials have been established with St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Kidney Foundation.

Donald Louis

The ashes of former Florence resident Donald Ray Louis, 73, of Denton, Texas, who died Dec. 7, will be interred at 10 a.m. Friday at Florence cemetery. Services were Dec. 11 in Denton.

He was born Aug. 3, 1939, in Newton to Wilbur Orville and Roberta Jean (Williams) Louis. He was raised on a farm south of Florence.

He received a bachelor’s degree from Emporia State University in 1962, a master’s degree from West Texas State University in 1976, and a doctorate from North Texas State University in 1984.

He is survived by four sons, Terry and Mike of Denver City, Texas, Mitch of Elk City, Okla., and Mark Louis of Irving, Texas; a sister, Carol Kutz of El Dorado; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
