Emergency dispatches

These dispatches were made by the Marion County Communications Department:

Aug. 14

8:52 a.m. — Marion ambulance transported a woman in her 70s with medical problems in the 000 block of Echo Lane to Hillsboro Community Hospital. Marion Fire Department provided lifting assistance.

9:40 a.m. — Peabody Fire Department responded to a pair of smoking electric wires in the 300 block of North Elm Street. Westar was called to provide assistance.

12:28 p.m. — Peabody ambulance transported a patient from Hillsboro Community Hospital to Wesley Medical Center in Newton.

12:16 p.m. — Marion County Sheriff’s Department responded to a disturbance between two children involving weapons in the 200 block of South Washington Street. The incident was turned over to a case worker from Prairie View.

2:29 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance made a non-emergency transport from Hillsboro Community Hospital to Kansas Heart Hospital.

3:42 p.m. — Burns Fire Department reported a brush fire at Burns and extinguished it.

Aug. 15

4:33 p.m. — Burns Fire Department was called to a grass fire. Transmissions of the location were garbled.

5:45 p.m. — Peabody Fire Department and Peabody ambulance were called to a corn field on fire on Timber Road between 30th and 40th roads. The fire was under control at 6:11 p.m.

Thursday

6:57 a.m. — Peabody ambulance transported a patient with respiratory problems from Peabody Care Center to Newton Medical Center.

8:59 a.m. — Peabody ambulance responded to the 900 block of North Olive Street for a spider bite.

1:14 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance responded to the 700 block of South Ash Street for a man in his 80s with a possible seizure. The patient was not transported from the scene.

5:10 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance transferred a confused patient from Bethesda Home in Goessel to Newton Medical Center.

9:10 p.m. — Marion ambulance responded to the 1500 block of East Main Street, Marion, for a patient having difficulty with an artificial eye. The patient was not transported.

10:36 p.m. — Peabody ambulance responded to U.S. 50 just east of Peabody for a patient reporting back, chest, and foot pain and blurred vision.

Friday

9:51 a.m. — Marion Fire Department responded to a track hoe on fire on Sunrise Road 2 miles north of U.S. 56.

1:10 p.m. — Hillsboro Fire Department responded to a ditch fire 1.5 miles south of Hillsboro on Indigo Road.

1:44 p.m. — Marion, Hillsboro, and Florence ambulance, Marion Fire Department, and Marion rescue responded to a two-vehicle crash at the U.S. 77/K-150 junction. Hillsboro and Florence ambulance were canceled.

3:25 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance responded to the 600 block of North Ash Street for a man in his 30s with a possible seizure. The patient was transported to Hillsboro Community Hospital.

4:03 p.m. — Burns Fire Department assisted with a brush fire in Chase County.

4:38 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance responded to the 200 block of South Cedar Street and transported a woman in her 70s with severe weakness to Hillsboro Community Hospital.

5:35 p.m. — Durham Fire Department responded to a small grass fire in the 500 block of 280th Road. The fire was extinguished before firefighters arrived.

9:39 p.m. — Peabody ambulance responded to the 700 block of West Eighth Street for a nonresponsive man shaking uncontrollably, all-over aches, and back pain. The patient was transported to Newton Medical Center.

9:59 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance and Goessel first responders responded to Bethesda Home in Goessel for a woman in her 60s with side and chest pain and a headache. The patient was transported to Newton Medical Center.

Saturday

9:59 a.m. — A man in his 40s who was unconscious in the 400 block of West B Street in Ramona was transported by Tampa Ambulance to Herington Municipal Hospital.

11:54 p.m. — Tampa ambulance and Lost Springs Fire Department responded to a report of a man trapped under a van at 340th Road and U.S. 77. The man was transported to Herington Municipal Hospital. Lincolnville first responders assisted on the call.

Sunday

8:24 a.m. — Marion ambulance responded to a death of a man in his 60s in the 300 block of South Cedar Street.

9:16 a.m. — Goessel first responders and Hillsboro ambulance responded to a female in her 50s who was bucked off a horse 1300 block of Goldenrod Road. Lifeteam helicopter transported the patient to Wesley Medical Center.

10:43 a.m. — A woman in her 60s with pneumonia in the 500 block of Peabody Street was transported by Peabody ambulance to St. Luke.

Monday

4:15 p.m. — A patient at Hillsboro Community Hospital was transported by Hillsboro ambulance to Newton Medical Center.

4:32 p.m. — Florence first responders
