According to fire and ambulance transmissions, monitored by the newspaper:

FEb. 10

8 a.m. — Marion ambulance was dispatched to the 2100 block of Schlotthauer Dr. in the Eastshore neighborhood at Marion Reservoir for a possible “code black,” an indication of a possible death. At 8:06 a.m. Hillsboro ambulance was paged for an elderly woman having a heart attack in the 2100 block of Kruse St., also at Eastshore, but was out of service. Marion ambulance diverted to the Kruse address and transported the woman having a heart attack to St. Luke Hospital. Tampa ambulance attended to the code black.

9:59 a.m. — A patient at St. Luke Hospital was transported by Marion ambulance to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

11:10 a.m. — Peabody ambulance provided lifting assistance to a woman who fell out of a chair in the 200 block of W. 5th St.

1 p.m. — Hillsboro firefighters responded to a pasture fire on Falcon Rd. one-quarter mile north of 210th Rd. At 1:17 p.m. Lehigh firefighters were paged to assist, but none responded. At 1:35 p.m., Durham and Canton firefighters were paged to assist. All units were clear of the scene at 3:28 p.m.

1:06 p.m. — A man who fell and cut his head was transported by Marion ambulance from the 300 block of N. Roosevelt St. to St. Luke Hospital. Marion firefighters provided lifting assistance. EMTs reported a second patient was also transported, but no transmissions indicating the second individual’s condition were recorded.

4:29 p.m. — A woman in her 90s with a possible broken leg caused by a fall was transported by Peabody ambulance from the 200 block of W. 5th St. to Hillsboro Community Hospital.

6:36 p.m. — Peabody firefighters responded to a fire in a ditch on Mustang Rd. north of 20th Rd.

feb. 11

1:35 p.m. — Goessel firefighters responded to Goessel High School for a fire alarm. Firefighters determined the alarm was triggered by dust.

thursday

2:26 a.m. — An individual with a possible heart attack was transported by Peabody ambulance from the 200 block of E. 2nd St. to Newton Medical Center.

2:31 p.m. — A man with breathing difficulties was transported by Tampa ambulance from 320th Rd. between Vista Rd. and US-56/77 to Herington Municipal Hospital. Lincolnville first responders assisted with the call.

friday

4:41 a.m. — A woman in her 80s with hip pain caused by a fall was transported by Hillsboro ambulance from Bethesda Home to Newton Medical Center.

12:19 p.m. — Marion ambulance responded to the 100 block of W. 7th St. in Florence for a man who ingested large amounts of two medications. The man was transported to St. Luke Hospital. Florence firefighters provided lifting assistance.

1:22 p.m. — Marion ambulance provided advanced-life-support transport of a patient from St. Luke Hospital to Wesley Medical Center.

1:23 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance provided advanced-life-support transport of a patient from St. Luke Hospital to Wesley Medical Center.

4:17 p.m. — Marion firefighters responded to a house fire in the 300 block of W. Santa Fe St. At 4:43 p.m. Florence firefighters were dispatched to provide manpower assistance. At 5:32 p.m. Hillsboro firefighters were dispatched to provide manpower assistance. Hillsboro and Florence units were back in their stations at 10:43 p.m. Marion firefighters monitored the residence overnight.

saturday

7:11 a.m. — Marion ambulance responded to the 700 block of E. Sherman St. for a man having an asthma attack. The man was not transported.

8:25 a.m. — A woman in her 80s with a possible stroke was transported by Marion ambulance from Marion Assisted Living to St. Luke Hospital.

9:30 a.m. — A male bicycle rider who was struck by a car was transported by Marion ambulance from the 500 block of W. Santa Fe St. to St. Luke Hospital.

10:23 a.m. — Peabody ambulance transported an individual to Newton Medical Center. The newspaper’s system did not record transmissions indicating the location or nature of the call.

1:53 p.m. — Burns firefighters responded to a large grass fire at NW 150th and Hopkins Switch Rds. in Butler County.

2:24 p.m. — Lincolnville firefighters responded to a grass and tree fire on 300th Rd. between Alfalfa and Bluestem Rds.

4:42 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance provided advanced-life-support transport of a patient from Hillsboro Community Hospital to Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.

7:47 a.m. — Peabody ambulance and Hillsboro firefighters responded to a one-vehicle accident in which a car spun and went into a ditch at 130th and Indigo Rds. One individual was transported to Hillsboro Community Hospital. Hillsboro first responders assisted with the call.

8:36 a.m. — Marion and Peabody ambulances, Marion firefighters and Peabody rescue were dispatched for a vehicle rollover accident at 130th and Nighthawk Rds. Marion EMTs reported an individual with minor lacerations refused to be transported.
