According to fire and ambulance transmissions monitored by the newspaper:

may 19

7:02 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance provided advanced-life-support transport of patient from St. Luke Hospital to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

6:42 p.m. — A woman with breathing difficulties was transported by Peabody ambulance from Peabody Health and Rehab Center to Newton Medical Center.

7:02 p.m. — A dispatcher reported receiving a call about a reckless driver on US-50 near Wildcat Creek Ranch, east of Peabody. An officer reported finding a vehicle in a ditch with the driver appearing to be unconscious. Marion ambulance transported the woman to St. Luke.

10:35 p.m. — A man with breathing difficulties was transported by Marion ambulance from the county jail to St. Luke.

5:08 a.m. — Marion ambulance responded to Hilltop Manor for a woman in her 80s who fell. No transportation was provided.

7:42 a.m. — Burns firefighters responded to NW 150th and NW Diamond Rds. in Butler County. Transmissions did not specify the type of fire.

7:51 a.m. — Goessel first responders and Hillsboro ambulance were dispatched to the 600 block of Marion St. for what turned out to be an accidentally triggered medical alarm.

9:32 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance was sent to to the 300 block of N. Main St. for a woman who reportedly had taken an overdose of medication in a possible attempted suicide. Hillsboro police transported the woman to Hillsboro Community Hospital.

12:48 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance transported to HCH a woman who was having a seizure in the 100 block of S. Ash St.

4:42 a.m. — A man with breathing difficulties was transported by Peabody ambulance from the 800 block of Poplar Dr. to Via Christi-St. Francis in Wichita.

4:59 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance transported a patient from HCH to Salina Regional Health Center.

1:14 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance provided lifting assistance to a woman in her 50s who fell in the 200 block of E. F St.

5:37 p.m. — Burns firefighters responded to Butler County grass fire.

friday

6:44 p.m. — A man with chest pains and breathing difficulties was transported from the 300 block of N. Elm St. to St. Luke by Marion ambulance.

7:27 p.m. — Peabody ambulance provided advanced-life-support transport of a patient from St. Luke to Via Christi-St. Francis.

9:43 p.m. — Hillsboro firefighters and ambulance responded to a smoke alarm at Harms Hall at Tabor College. No fire or injuries were found.

10:16 p.m. — Hillsboro emergency medical technicians provided lifting assistance in the 400 block of W. B St.

11:50 p.m. — At the request of police, Hillsboro ambulance transported a patient from B and Main Sts. to HCH for psychological evaluation.

saturday

12:35 a.m. — Marion ambulance responded to Hilltop Manor for a man with breathing difficulties. No transportation was provided.

1:20 p.m. — A woman with breathing difficulties was transported by Marion ambulance from Marion Assisted Living to St. Luke.

2:11 p.m. — A woman in her 50s having a seizure was transported by Peabody ambulance to St. Luke from near Upland and 140th Rds. Florence first responders assisted.

8:02 p.m. — Peabody ambulance was paged for an advanced-life-support transport, but had only one crew member available. A Marion EMT met the ambulance at St. Luke hospital to complete the crew, and a patient was transported to Via Christi-St. Francis.

sunday

10:30 a.m. — Tampa ambulance, Marion rescue, Marion and Lincolnville firefighters, and Lincolnville first responders were initially dispatched to US-56/77 and 310th Rd. for a report of car in a pasture, possibly smoking as a result of an accident. The first units on the scene canceled the fire call and said only a tow truck would be needed. Tampa ambulance reported that a patient had declined to be transported.

8:49 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance was sent to the 300 block of S. Floral St. but did not transport a 76-year-old who reportedly fell there. The ambulance returned to its station at 9:27 p.m. and was called back at 10:49 p.m. At 11:05 p.m., Hillsboro firefighters were called to provide lifting assistance, and the patient was transported to HCH, arriving at 11:19 p.m. The ambulance returned to service at 11:49 p.m.

MONday

12:37 p.m. — Marion firefighters were summoned to help a woman free her 10-year-old daughter who had become entangled in a seatbelt in the back seat of her car at 230th Rd. and US-56/77. Firefighters were able to untangle the girl without cutting the seatbelt.

6:29 p.m. — EMTs from both Florence and Marion were dispatched, but no transportation was provided after a motorcyclist who had used the restroom at Johnson’s General Store collapsed in front of the store and complained that half his body was numb. A Florence EMT was initially dispatched as a first responder. He asked for, then canceled, then reinstated a call for the Marion ambulance. Saying that the patient had become combative, he also asked for a police officer. An additional Florence EMT also responded. Although no transportation was provided, an EMT discussed escorting the motorcyclist to the Butler County line. All units were back in their quarters by 7:23 p.m.

7:49 p.m. — First Marion, then Hillsboro, and finally Peabody EMTs were paged to take a patient needing advanced life support from St. Luke to Wesley.

11:26 p.m. — A woman who wasn’t feeling well was taken by Hillsboro ambulance from the 300 block of N. Birch St. to HCH.

TUESDAY

6:43 a.m. — A patient was transported to HCH after Hillsboro ambulance, fire and rescue responded to a one-car rollover on 190th Rd, near Goldenrod Rd.
