Florence Irene Dimock

Florence Irene Dimock, 89, died in Pasadena, California on April 7, 2013.

Born Florence Pleiser on May 24, 1923, in Tampa, Kan., she moved to Los Angeles during World War II and worked the swing shift at Douglas Aircraft where she met her husband, Ted.

Florence resided in Hawthorne for over 60 years where she was a loving mother and homemaker. Florence was an active community member volunteering for St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Hawthorne High School Band and AFS Intercultural Programs.

She is survived by her sister, Lucy Hughes of Newton, Kan.; her children, Sandra Leavitt of Inglewood, Calif., Susan Lucas of Malvern, Pa., John Dimock of Studio City, Calif., and Jennifer Waldron of Oak Park, Calif.; as well as her 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband Ted; her sisters, Margaret, Mary, and Bernadine; and her brothers, Paul and John.

Services will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hawthorne on Friday, April 19, at 12:30 p.m.
