FSA county election nominations accepted beginning Monday

The nomination period for local Farm Service Agency county committees begins Monday and continues through Aug. 1.

Committee members assist the FSA with opinions, recommendations, and ideas for new programs or changes to existing ones.

Eligible candidates must participate or cooperate in a program administered by the FSA and be eligible to vote in a county election and reside in the local administrative area where the person is nominated.

Candidates can nominate themselves or others, nominations can also be made by organizations representing minorities and women. The nominating form and more information can be found at http://www.fsa.usda.gov/elections.

Mail-in ballots will be available to voters beginning Nov. 3 and are due back at the local FSA office by Dec. 1.
