Hillsboro woman wins poker tournament

Trish Williamson of Hillsboro outlasted 19 other players to win the sixth annual Bob Phillips memorial Texas hold ’em poker tournament Saturday at Peabody American Legion post.

The event, featuring a $465 prize pool, raised $520 for the Bob Phillips memorial scholarship fund.

Williamson donated $50 of her winnings to the fund.

Pat Allnutt of Hillsboro placed second; Max Williams of Florence, third; and Mike Gfeller of Wichita, fourth.

Dan Towne of Hillsboro won a pink T-shirt for being the first player out of the tournament.

High hand — a straight flush on the board — was shared by Gfeller, Allnutt, and Henry Hammann of Peabody.
