BURNS:   Holiday events shared by Burns residents

The Ike Clark Family Christmas was held at the Cassoday Community Center Christmas Day and evening. Wayne and Gloria Handle of Baxter Springs and Kirk and Amy Kool and family of Glasco were overnight guests of Marie Clark on Dec. 25 and 26. Marie joined them at the home of Mark and Lisa Johnson Dec. 26 in Marion. They all returned to their homes on Dec. 27.

Ashley Reid of Wichita was a luncheon guest of her grandmother, Marie Clark, on Dec. 30. Beth Wolf and granddaughter Lydia called on Marie in the afternoon. Hadlye Clark was a Dec. 30 and 31 guest of Marie.

Dusty Gaines was a Christmas Day guest of his parents, Ronnie and Patti Gaines. On the evening of Dec. 28 family and friends gathered at the American Legion in Peabody to celebrate the birthdays of Dusty Gaines and Jennafer Sevart. On Dec. 29, Patti and granddaughter Brooke Gaines went to Parry to celebrate Christmas with the Gaines brothers and sisters.

Vernon and Judy Koehn celebrated Dec. 28, having guests Kevin and Janarro Jantz and family of Kentucky, Luanna Isaac, Renferd and Wanda Koehn, Lonnie and Carolee, Dalen and Beth Koehn and Cody for dinner.

Christmas Day dinner guests of Lawrence and Lois Sayers were Sheila and Gunter Liegherr of Andover, Roy and Sara Wessel and Leroy of Marion, Sandy Sayers, who was also an overnight guest, and Bruce Sayers and Megan and Jessica.

Joyce Kyle joined the family of Mary Langenegger at her house Dec. 22. Gary came and got her, then brought her home after the Burns Countryside Church Christmas program.

Ron and Fern Goodwin came to take Joyce to Burns for the United Methodist Church Christmas Eve Service.

Christmas Day Bob Kyle came to pick up Joyce Kyle for Christmas dinner with Bob, Becky, Brody, and Braxton. In the afternoon, they went to Wichita and visited Glenn Kyle at Via Christi-St. Francis. The family had sort of a sad Christmas, but thank God for his love and care and that of family and friends.

Jim and Beulah Gehring of Moundridge picked up Joyce Kyle and Mary Langenegger on Dec. 27 and the group went to the Burns Café. Later they went back to Mary’s and had an enjoyable evening visiting.

Nedy Grimwood called on Joyce the evening of Dec. 30.
