Jane Johnson

Services for Jane Louise Johnson, 64, who passed away May 1, 2026, at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro, were 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Marion. Pastors Frank Johnson and Scott Snow officiated.

Relatives received friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Interment was at Marion Cemetery.

Born Nov. 4, 1961, in El Dorado to Richard and Lois (Schlotthauer) Johnson, Jane graduated from Marion High School, attended Benedictine College in Atchison, and finished her English degree at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina.

She had a successful business career for more than 30 years in Wichita.

While living in Wichita, she transferred her church membership to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Following her work in Wichita, Jane returned to Marion to help care for her family. She also recently returned to the Marion County Record to again serve as office manager.

Jane was an avid reader and belonged to several book clubs. She was a talented writer as well.

Jane donated much of her time volunteering at the community garden, summer reading program, galas, and many other events in Marion and Hillsboro.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Johnson, and is survived by her mother, Lois J. Johnson, and many other relatives and friends.
