Sheriff’s officers arrested Lane Smith, 35, of Marion on Sunday on suspicion of domestic battery and battery.

At 6:45 p.m., deputies investigated a report of a domestic disturbance at a house on Rock Rd. at Marion County Lake.

Sheriff Robert Craft said the incident involved a disagreement between Smith and another “household resident.”

“I am not aware of any physical injuries,” Craft said. “None were reported.”

He said officers are mandated by state statute to arrest a person who allegedly makes rude physical contact during a domestic dispute.

Smith bonded out of Marion County Jail on Monday.
