Manuel Luna, 86, died Nov. 15 at Salem Home in Hillsboro.

He was born Dec. 24, 1928, in Mexico City. He married Julia Nuez on Aug. 11, 1953, in Mexico City, and worked for Rock Island Railroad doing maintenance.

He was preceded in death by two infant daughters; a sister Guadalupe Luna; his wife Julia, who died just two days before his death; and a grandson.

He is survived by sons Victor, Elko, Nevada; Ernie, Xilitla, Mexico; Tony, Lowell, Massachusetts; George, Marion; brother Edward Alvarez, Mexico City; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Nov. 11 at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion. A graveside service was Nov. 12 at Lost Springs Cemetery.

Memorials have been established with Salem Home and Good Shepherd Hospice.
