Marion raises

To the editor:

Your editorial breakdown, in the April 23 edition, regarding across-the-board raises, using something that has been on everyone’s mind for months, was EGGcellent!

Cracking into this, to scramble things up from afar, public sector salaries for those handing out these raises are like using Monopoly money.

Taxes and at times less services pay for those raises. Maybe hold up on the quick approvals.

Merit-based salaries above an annual increase set for inflation is the way to go. Why there are no evaluation standards set for merit is smelling like rotten eggs to me.

Sad there are hardly any letters to the editor, but thank goodness there are still Memories!
