Mildred Irene Soyez Riffel

Mildred “Millie” Irene Soyez Riffel, 92, died Aug. 16 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion. She was born May 24, 1920, in Lost Springs to Nelson and Ida Faye (Lamb) Henninger.

She attended Tampa schools and worked as a waitress at several restaurants and for more than 30 years at Schoneman Shoe Store in Marion.

She married Harold Fredrick Lipps in October 1936 in Tampa. They had two children, Phyllis Jean and Harold “Butch” Willard.

She married Richard Gail Soyez on June 12, 1943, in Hillsboro. They had twin boys, Richard Duane and Robert Wayne.

She married Rhinney Riffel on Feb. 10, 1990, in Hillsboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Harold Lipps in 1941, Richard Soyez in 1987, and Rhinney Riffel in 2003; a brother, Richard Smith; a sister, Dorothy Berg; and a stepsisters, Lola Burch.

She is survived by her children, Phyllis Jean Soyez, Richard Soyez, and Robert Soyez of Marion, Harold Soyez of Grapevine, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
