Norma Jane Unger was embraced by the arms of Jesus on June 18, 2015. She was born in Hillsboro, Kansas, Sept. 28, 1928.

She is survived by her three beloved children, Teresa Ann Derr, Sharon Kay Huckelberry and her husband, Bert, Kenneth Bradley Unger and partner, Stephen Logue; and her sister, Joyce Ann May. She adored her grandchildren, Jonathan (Leslie), Jennifer, Wendy, Angela, and Phil (Michelle). She was proud to be great-grandmother to Jonathan, Jayson, Leah, Jacob, Nathaniel, Odessa, Alexander, Tyler, Dylan, and baby Evariste. Her nieces and nephews will remember their fun-loving Aunt Norma.

Norma lived a vibrant life. She created a loving home wherever God placed her. She was a woman of many talents. Her favorite activity was cooking delicious meals and treats for loved ones. She was an accomplished seamstress, a spotless homemaker, and gracious hostess. Her God-given beauty was only surpassed by her inner beauty.

She survived many transitions in her life of 86 years with strength, courage, dignity, and faith. She loved to laugh, and cherished the laughter of her loved ones. She has touched many lives and her Light will continue to shine brightly in those who knew her.

She was a member of Mountain City United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, in 2007, and her son, Don, in 2012.

She is survived by her sons Dennis and Paul, both of Wichita, and Leroy of Marion; her daughters Alice Trego of Muscatine, Iowa, and Lori Siebert of Marion; four siblings; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Holy Family Parish, St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Marion, with the Rosary on Monday evening and Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning, June 30, 2015.
