SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Criminal damage

Amanda Rhodes, 24, of Ramona reported that two front doors, valued at $100, to the N. D St. residence she shares with Andrew Brown, 28, were damaged between 3:30 and 11:07 p.m. May 14.

Burglary

Nicole Sauder, 29, of Goessel reported that a plastic box and miscellaneous items, together valued at $5, were stolen from her E. Marion Ave. apartment between 10 a.m. and 10:33 p.m. May 15. Undersheriff David Huntley reported no signs of forced entry.

Theft

Layne Nienstedt, 17, of Lincolnville reported that $250 was stolen from his residence between noon March 31 and 9:05 p.m. April 6. Deputy Bronson Shipman’s report did not indicate whether he found signs of forced entry. The offense was reported to authorities April 6 but the report was not released until Friday.

Marion

Burglary

Employee James A. Druse Jr., 60, of Marion reported that $130 in cash and $84 in checks were taken between 12:15 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday from a cash box at Marion County Transfer Station.

Theft

Dennis Lackey, 40, of Meadow Grove, Nebraska, reported theft of an automobile valued at $1,000 between 7:45 and 8:37 p.m. May 21 in the 100 block of Billings St. No further information was released.

Battery

Patrick Bernhardt, 46, of Marion, was arrested May 19 on a charge of domestic battery after allegedly assaulting his wife, Gretchen, at their home in the 200 block of 2nd St.

She told police he appeared to have been drinking, was listening to loud music and appeared to be angry when she returned home from shopping. He allegedly kept pushing her into pantry shelves as she tried to put away groceries until she hit him with a can to get away.

He allegedly threw a glass vase, an ashtray, and TV remote control at her, cutting and bruising her, as she fled to a neighbor’s house.

Trespass, criminal damage

Rita Tomlinson, 62, told police a trespasser broke a door , valued at $200, to enter a shed outside her residence in the 100 block of N. Freeborn St. between 8 and 9:29 p.m. May 19. Gary Tomlinson, 42, of Peabody, was charged with criminal trespass and criminal damage to property.

Drunken driving, other charges

A traffic stop for speeding at 3:12 a.m. May 11 at 1st and Main Sts. ended in an arrest on charges of driving under the influence, transporting an open container, and driving with a suspended license. Debra Tullis, 44, of Goessel, was booked into Marion County Jail on those charges.

Criminal damage to property

Tara Wilhelm, 36, of Marion, reported that a vandal used a sharp metal object to do $999 in damage to the paint of her sports utility vehicle at 12:15 p.m. May 10 in the 400 block of S. Roosevelt St.

Criminal damage to property

PCSI, owner of a coin-operated car wash in the 1500 block of Sandstone Rd., reported $250 in damage to its equipment between 3 and 6 p.m. May 7.
