Dwight Kruse, Marion, reported that a trespasser used alcohol or drugs on his property at 190th Rd. and K-256.

Hillsboro

Theft

Charges are pending against a 50-year-old Hillsboro woman who allegedly entered Ampride between 4:30 and 5 p.m. April 21, filled a cup she had brought with her with $2 worth of soda, then left without paying. The woman has allegedly stolen soda the same way several times.

Tresspassing

Charges are pending against a 29-year-old Hillsboro man after he allegedly continued to enter a home between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of S. Birch St.

Marion

Open container, minor in possession of alcohol

Adam Janzen, 18, of Marion, was arrested at 12:19 a.m. May 22 on charges of transporting an open container of alcohol and being a minor in possession of alcohol. Officer Lee Vogel reported an odor of marijuana and alcohol in the vehicle. Several alcoholic beverages and an open container of alcohol reportedly were found but no marijuana was discovered.

Battery

Clumps of hair and a damaged porch railing were discovered when police responded to a report of a fight at 11:33 p.m. May 27 in the 500 block of N. Cedar St. Officer Lee Vogel found the victim sitting in her car with marks on her hands and face.

Police gave no further information, and jail records did not indicate anyone had been arrested in this incident.

Burglary, criminal trespass

Gary Tomlinson, 42, of Peabody was arrested at 1:26 a.m. June 1 on charges of burglary and criminal trespass. At 10 p.m. May 31, Tomlinson allegedly entered a home in the 100 block of S. Cedar St. The homeowner confronted him and made him leave. Police said the homeowner went outside to make sure Tomlinson had left. However, the homeowner allegedly discovered Tomlinson, the trespasser, inside his car with the doors shut. Tomlinson was allegedly trying to start the homeowner’s vehicle. Police said the homeowner got Tomlinson to leave on foot. Later, officers found Tomlinson at the intersection of Weldon and Roosevelt Sts.

Battery, harassment, criminal threat, criminal restraint

Police are seeking a Junction City man in his 30s for allegedly hitting a 26-year-old Marion woman at 11:59 p.m. May 31. The same man allegedly became angry and spit on the woman after she broke up with him May 10. Between May 10 and May 31, he also allegedly sent threatening text messages to her, to her two young children, and to her father. According to police, the man allegedly hit the woman on the face and head, forced her into a room, and slapped a phone out of her hand when she tried to call 911 on May 31. The man faces charges of battery, criminal threat, and harassment by telecommunications device. He also faces charges of criminal restraint against a 2-year-old Marion boy.
