Work auction will be Feb. 21

Staff writer

Peabody residents may see FFA members providing community services around town Monday. They will be kicking off National FFA Week by collecting trash, picking up leaves and limbs, and doing basic maintenance on Main Street buildings and signs.

From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, they will provide a community hamburger and mountain oyster feed at the ag shop.

FFA members will head to classrooms Feb. 20 to provide lessons on agriculture to elementary students.

The week’s activities will culminate at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 21 with the annual work auction and chili/soup cook-off at the high school.

The FFA chapter will end National FFA Month by having an Ag Olympics for high school students Feb. 27.

Additional information can be obtained by calling FFA advisor Alexandra Walters at awalters@usd398.com or (785) 303-0341.
