Peabody Senior Center will host an Easter brunch at 9:30 a.m. Friday.

“Kim Nellans, our cook, makes a wonderful breakfast casserole and either cinnamon rolls or blueberry coffee cake,” site manager Ruth Lott said. “We try to serve brunch before a holiday weekend to give people an early meal so they can go ahead and begin their travels to see family or begin preparing to have family come visit them.”

Reservations for the brunch need to be made by the evening before. Call (620) 983-2226 and leave a message if necessary.

On Tuesday, the center will celebrate April birthdays with oven-baked chicken and all the trimmings.

“Marion County Sheriff Rob Craft will be our guest speaker for the meeting that day,” Lott said. “He will update us on what is going on in the county and answer questions.”

Craft will speak immediately following lunch.

Lott also reminds everyone that April is Volunteer Month and the center could always use additional volunteers. The center would be happy to visit with anyone who could donate a couple of hours.

The charge for lunch is a suggested donation of $2.75 for anyone 60 or older and $4.50 for all others.
