CORRESPONDENTS:   Peabody Senior Center

Lately, guests at Peabody Senior Center have enjoyed the summer harvest from area gardeners.

“We have enjoyed the fresh fruits and vegetables that we have gotten from generous gardeners,” said Ruth Lott, Peabody Senior Center site manager. “We have all benefited from them and appreciate them very much.”

Lott also reminds Peabody seniors and others of the wellness classes from 2 to 4 p.m. every Tuesday at Indian Guide Terrace community room.

“The classes are being received quite well,” Lott said. “People are learning a great deal and enjoying the sessions.”

The senior center serves lunch at 11:45 a.m. Monday through Friday. Advance reservations are preferred to be sure enough food is prepared. Call (620) 983-2226 a day ahead and leave a message if necessary to reserve a spot.

The center also appreciates receiving volunteer help in many areas. To sign up, call the same number or go to the center at 106 N. Walnut St. and visit with them about volunteering.
