ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Nov. 21 — Routine activities.

Nov. 22 — A driver was located and warned after a resident complained about improper driving in the 100 block of N. Adams St.

Nov. 23 — Dogs reported to be running free were determined to be outside the city limits. Suspicious activity near a Memorial Park concession stand was investigated. Police helped a citizen with transportation logistics.

Thursday — Routine activities.

Friday — Two drivers, one at Ash and Willow Sts. and the other in the 400 block of Floral Dr., were cited for having expired license plates. Joseph L. Donnell, 31, Wichita, was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear in court in Meade County. Nothing was found when police checked a report of dogs running free at the sports complex and a report of suspicious activity in the 100 block of S. Birch St.

Saturday — A dog running free in the 300 block of S. Adams St. was returned to its owner, who was cited.

Sunday — A driver in the 100 block of N. Adams St. was warned for having an expired tag. A dog running free in the 300 block of N. Jefferson St. was returned to its owner. Police helped a citizen with a personal property dispute and met with another citizen about a missing bicycle.

MARION

Police stopped three vehicles for traffic-related matters during the week.

Nov. 21 — A disturbance reported in the 300 block of N. Roosevelt St. was not located. Police stood by during a civil matter in the 400 block of Grant St.

Nov. 22 — A door was found open in the 700 block of S. Freeborn St. Two dogs reported to be running free in the 200 block of N. Roosevelt St. were captured by their owner before an officer arrived. Police checked on the welfare of a resident of the 700 block of N. Cedar St.

Nov. 23 — Routine activities.

Thursday — Police stood by after the county jail reported than an inmate was out of control. No crime was noted when an officer investigated a 911 call about a disturbance in the 400 block of S. Roosevelt St. A driver was cited for driving 80 mph in a 65-mph zone.

Friday — Police assisted with an ambulance call at Hilltop Manor apartments, provided traffic control for two helicopter ambulance landings, and helped control traffic at a triple fatality at US-56 and K-256.

Saturday — Routine activities.

Sunday — A 3-year-old was bitten by a family dog, which was placed on quarantine for 10 days.
