hillsboro Police

Aug. 11: Police responded to a property dispute, a dog complaint, and a parking complaint.

Aug. 12: Officers handled a parking complaint and a report of a yard that was flooding.

Aug. 13: Police recovered stolen property and handled traffic, parking, and threat complaints.

Aug. 14: Officers took a theft report where three patrons left a restaurant without paying for their meals.

Aug. 15: Police took two reports of burglary; the first was at Tabor College but nothing appeared to be missing, and in the second, two mini bikes were stolen from a residence on Main St. Officers also responded to an animal welfare complaint.

Aug. 16: Police took traffic and harassment complaints and responded to a domestic disturbance.

Aug. 17: Officers handled reports of a reckless driver, suspicious activity, and a person operating an ATV. Police also responded to a parking complaint, a threat complaint, and a second report of suspicious activity. In addition, police responded to a disturbance in which an intoxicated person was upset about a traffic complaint.

Marion police

Aug. 5: Police issued a verbal warning to a juvenile female on an electric scooter on the street and assisted a disabled vehicle downtown.

Aug. 6: Police responded to a dog-at-large call, performed a welfare check on a person sitting by the elementary school, and assisted in subduing a combative man at St. Luke.

Aug. 7: Police responded to a dog at large, a report of a man riding an ATV on Freeborn St., and detained a juvenile on a pick up and detain order and transported him or her to detention center in Junction City.

Aug. 8: Police responded to a call of a disruptive patron at Casey’s General Store and took a report of several juveniles shooting Air Soft guns and hitting pedestrians on Main St.

Aug. 9: Police issued a verbal warning to a resident riding an ATV on the street.

Aug. 11: Police took a suspicious vehicle report and moved a turtle out of the middle of the street.

Aug. 12: Police started investigation about drug paraphernalia found.

Aug. 13: Police responded to a possible injury accident.

Wednesday: Police detonated a World War I grenade with the help of Wichita bomb squad after a resident brought it into the police station and responded to a disturbance on North Cedar St.

Thursday: Police responded to a non-injury accident.

Saturday: Police assisted Marion Ambulance, took a report of a noise complaint, took a report of disorderly conduct, and took a report of theft by a juvenile.

Peabody Police

Aug. 12: Police were called to assist with a child custody issue that turned out to be a civil matter.

Aug. 13: A report was taken of a runaway juvenile; the juvenile has not returned home. Gary Hubman, 55 of Peabody, was arrested on a charge of illegal window tint.

Aug. 15: Dicy Durham was arrested on a Geary County warrant and no proof of insurance.

Aug. 16: Police recovered a stolen motorcycle from Newton. Jared Weems, Peabody, was arrested on a municipal court warrant.

Aug. 18: Officers provided an outside assist to Marion County Sheriff’s department on a domestic issue in the county. Jeff Madson, 56, of Peabody was arrested on charges of public intoxication, probation violation, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of N. Maple St. The husband left with two children. No arrests were made.
