Police provided these reports this week of their activities. Routine training, patrols, office work and other assistance to other agencies are excluded.
Hillsboro
September 11 — Officers assisted at a non-injury accident in the 600 block of N. Ash St. Officers gave citations for an equipment violation, two speeding violations, and two parking violations.
September 12 — An attempted residential break-in in the 300 block of S. Birch St. was found to be unfounded. Officers gave citations for speeding and curfew violation.
September 13 — Officers investigated at Dollar General after a suspicious customer followed an employee. Police reviewed vehicle window damage caused by a string trimmer on Ash St. Officers investigated dogs at large chasing a person walking in the 100 block of S. Wilson St. The dogs were located, taken into custody, and taken to an animal clinic. Police responded to a panic alarm that was set off by accident at Ampride. Officers gave a citation for an equipment violation.
Thursday — Police investigated a forgery/theft case at Casey’s General Store. Officers gave citations for a speeding and seatbelt violation. Police investigated a broken car window in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St. It was a lawn-mowing incident.
Friday — Police investigated a traffic complaint in the 600 block of S. Lincoln St. Officers located the owners of three dogs-at-large and returned the dogs.
Saturday — Officers investigated a domestic violence call in the 500 block of S. Washington St. Police investigated a pit bull dog within city limits.
