Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro police

April 1 — Officers investigated a dog complaint at Main and D Sts., assisted a motorist on US-56, and checked suspicious activity downtown

April 2 — Officers assisted sheriff’s deputies with two suspicious subjects.

April 3 — Officers responded to a parking complaint in the 200 block of W. Grand, took a report of an abandoned bicycle, arrested a subject in the 400 block of S. Birch on several outstanding warrants, and took a report of a probation violation in the 400 block of E. First St.

April 4 — Officers took a report of two chairs stolen from a front porch in the 100 block of Elm St., assisted the fire department with several fires along Indigo Rd., and assisted sheriff’s deputies and Marion police with arrests at HCH following a vehicle pursuit. Another subject received a mental health evaluation following a self-inflicted wound. Officers investigated an accident at Ash and Grand Sts., responded to a commercial alarm in the 500 block of E. D St., and checked two suspicious people in Hillsboro Heights.

April 5 — Officers received found property and took a report of an unruly customer in the 900 block of E. D St.

April 6 — Officers assisted a motorist on 190th Rd., responded to a commercial alarm in the 100 block of N. Ash, took a report of a homicidal person at HCH and transported the subject to a mental health facility, assisted Chase County Sheriff’s deputies with locating a subject, and assisted the fire department investigate an odor of smoke .

April 7 — Officers took a report of a damaged vehicle on Willow Rd., assisted Peabody police with a runaway juvenile and assisted sheriff’s deputies with a trespass complaint.

Marion

March 25 — Officers assisted Peabody police with a prowler in the 700 block of N. Elm.

March 26 — Officers issued a citation for expired tag and making a J-turn at 3rd and Forrest Sts. and assisted with an out-of-control juvenile at OASIS.

March 27 — Officers issued verbal warnings for a brake light out and reckless driving.

March 28 — Officers responded a fire alarm at Oasis that turned out to be a fire drill, assisted sheriff’s deputies with rock spilled near Hwy. 56 and Cedar, met with a repossession company, took a report of a stolen vehicle that had actually been repossessed, photographed property with city code violations, and did a civil standby at Absolute Wrecker Service.

March 29 — Officers spoke to victims and parents of two juveniles from Inman getting into cars parked at a high school baseball game. No charges were issued.

March 30 — Officers investigated a dog complaint in the 300 block of S. Lincoln and assisted sheriff’s deputies with a traffic stop, arresting a driver and passenger.

March 31 — Officers responded to an alarm at Central National Bank and found everything OK, investigated a possible stalking report, and found everything OK, and gave a verbal warning for no headlights and no driver’s license in possession.

April 1 — Officers assisted sheriff’s deputies with traffic control to slow down drivers on Hwy. 56 where cars were wrecking on an icy bridge, responded to a burglar alarm at Ampride and found everything OK, and investigated a possible gun shot on S. Roosevelt St., locating nothing.

April 2 — Officers issued a verbal warning for a J-turn, investigated a complaint of a dog jumping over a resident’s fence, and took a report of suspicious activity in the 500 block of S. Freeborn St.

April 3 — Officers called about an alarm at Ampride, took a complaint of suspicious males at the airport traveling toward the lake and notified the sheriff’s office, took a report of identity theft, made a traffic stop in the 1000 block of N. Cedar St. and issued a verbal warning for speeding.

April 5 — Officers conducted traffic stops for speeding, making a J-turn, and no brake lights.

April 6 — Officers investigated a report of stolen fuel, assisted Hillsboro police with a report of a homicidal person at Hillsboro hospital and the person agreed to get a mental evaluation, assisted sheriff’s deputies with a slide-off on Hwy. 56, and issued a verbal warning for no tag light.

April 7 — Officers issued a verbal warning for a truck with no tag illegally parked on N. Lincoln, assisted a deputy with a traffic stop in the 800 block of Weldon, and took a report of a barking dog in the 400 block of N. Roosevelt St.

Peabody

April 5 — Police took a report from a resident at Peabody Health and Rehab on a case of child abuse. An investigation proved the claims unfounded.

April 8 — Tammy Britton, 43, was arrested for criminal damage to property at 9th and Walnut Sts. Deadrick La Barr Carrington, 33, was arrested for driving on a suspended license. Police took a report that will be filed with the city prosecutor of a vicious pit bull at the corner of Divison and Sycamore Sts.
