MARION POLICE

Sept. 29: Officers performed follow-up on a non-injury accident and an unattended death, assisted Marion County Sheriff deputies with suicidal person, reviewed cases with county attorney, gave a verbal warning for an expired vehicle tag, and checked school buildings.

Sept. 30: Officers assisted jail staff with disorderly arrestee, performed a VIN inspection, provided security at St. Luke Hospital for a possible suicidal person, issued a verbal warning for speeding, issued a speeding citation, and conducted residential patrol on foot.

Oct. 1: Officers conducted follow-up investigations, issued two verbal warnings for speeding, served two arrest warrants, secured two open doors during building checks, and took a report on a civil child custody case.

Oct. 2: Officers patrolled school zones, issued a verbal warning for brake light malfunction, worked on arrest reports, and performed canine training.

Oct. 3: Officers issued citations for headlights out and no proof of insurance, responded to a call for subject with Alzheimer’s disease, took a report of criminal damage to property, and reviewed cases with county attorney and court services.

Oct. 4: Officers issued two verbal warnings for speed, issued a citation for parking where prohibited, performed business checks, worked on reports, and conducted follow-up investigations.

Oct. 5: Officers investigated a report of a child going through someone’s garage, and discovered child had permission to do so. Officers provided routine patrol and traffic enforcement, and conducted a search for fleeing and eluding officer suspects.

Oct. 6: Officers conducted two VIN inspections, gave a presentation to school children, took a report of theft and burglary, issued a verbal warning for speeding, conducted follow-up on a sexual assault case, and attempted to contact suspect in vehicle pursuit from the prior night.

Oct. 7: Officers continued investigation of the flee and elude case from Oct. 5, speaking to an individual at the sheriff’s office, speaking to a witness and suspect, and attempting to obtain video footage. Officers served municipal court papers on three individuals, responded to a disturbance between neighbors, and completed reports.

Oct. 8: Officers conducted multiple interviews related to a theft case, responded to a fire alarm at Cindy’s Café, conducted an interview for a sexual assault case, served three warrants, and took a report of harassment.

Thursday: Officers conducted three VIN inspections, patrolled school zones, conducted follow-up on a burglary and theft case, checked businesses, and competed reports.

Friday: Officers responded to a report of a possible rabid skunk, and dispatched the skunk on scene. Officers issued a verbal warning for an improper turn, issued a citation for expired registration, received a call of theft of prescription medication, and provided three VIN inspections.

Saturday: Officers intervened in a domestic disturbance, assisted Marion ambulance with a patient who fell, conducted foot patrol on Lincoln and Cedar Sts. and downtown, and assisted with possible drunk driver. Officers took a report of a dog bite, issued a citation to the owner, and impounded the dog at Animal Health Center.

Sunday: Officers investigated a reported suspicious injury of a child at St. Luke Hospital and concluded no foul play was suspected, assisted Marion ambulance with a patient who fell, served an arrest warrant, took a report of possible stolen property, and patrolled the city and parked near banks during citywide power outage.

PEABODY POLICE

Oct. 8: Officers assisted Marion County Sheriff’s Department with an injury accident.

Friday: Police responded to a domestic battery at 608 E. 2nd.

Saturday: Nehemiah S. Violett was arrested in Harvey County on a Peabody Municipal Court warrant.
