Roger W. Kohls

Roger Willis Kohls, 68, of rural Chase County died Feb. 13, 2012, in the same home in which he was born. He was born July 29, 1943, in the family home of Alfred and Dorothy Lucas Kohls near Elk.

He graduated from Chase County High School in 1961 and served in the Sea Bees division of the U.S. Navy. He was a farmer and a stockman.

He married Mary Ann Brown on June 29, 1964, at Grace Lutheran Church in Strong City.

He is survived by his wife of the home; one son, Roger W. Kohls Jr. of Great Bend; one daughter, Karoly K. Bruch of Emporia; his mother of Salina; one brother, Alfred W. Kohls of Salina; two sisters, Sonja Maddox of Lincolnville and Barbara Reyer of Rose Hill; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation with family was Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Strong City. There will be no formal funeral. At his request, he was cremated. Private family inurnment will be at Elk Union Cemetery.
