Shopping spree will end Friday

Peabody Main Street Association members will draw for the winners of $1,200 in Peabody Bucks at 2 p.m. Friday at city hall.

“We hope everyone still has some shopping to do before we draw for the prizes on Friday,” PMSA director Shane Marler said. “Completed tickets should be deposited in the big gift box at city hall. And be sure to fill out the back of the card with your name or address. That is an important part and it seems that every year someone forgets to it. So far we haven’t ever drawn a ticket without a name, but there are usually a couple turned in that way.”

The top prize is $700, second prize is $400, and third prize is $100.

Marler also reminds people that there is a consolation drawing for $75 the following week, on Dec. 27.

“Anyone with a partially filled ticket should bring it to city hall by the 27th and we will draw the name of the consolation winner,” he said. “The purpose of the second drawing is to help us track all the sales made during the shopping spree. The partially filled tickets represent holiday sales as well as the completed tickets.

“Remember, our slogan for this promotion is ‘you can’t win if you don’t shop’ and there are still a couple of days to pick up last minute items,” Marler said.
